The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.\u201d<\/em><\/h5>\nFirst tilled in the early 1980\u2019s, the NVRH community gardens now has 28 individual garden plots.\u00a0 That is over 40 harvests and too many zucchinis, tomatoes, and sunflowers to count.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The NVRH community gardens provide a social space for community members to exchange gardening tips while reaping other health benefits by being active and eating fresh fruits and vegetables.<\/p>\n
There is no charge for the garden plots, but space is limited, and gardening etiquette is enforced.\u00a0 Garden plots are assigned on a first come first served basis.\u00a0 Preference is given to returning NVRH community gardeners.\u00a0 Gardens should be planted by Memorial Day in the spring and harvested and readied for winter by late fall.<\/p>\n
